Job Summary


Level Up Seattle is seeking an eager community-minded Residential House Manager to live on-site and support our efforts to provide safe, comfortable, and supportive housing for young foster adults.  This is a part-time position.  The Residential House Manager will live on-site with eight to ten young foster adults sharing the residence in other bedrooms.  The Residential House Manager will support the residents in completing household responsibilities, monitor their activities, and encourage their growth and personal development. The Residential House Manager receives free rent and may earn income of up to $400/month in addition to the free rent based on performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe, positive, clean, and alcohol/drug free environment in the home
  • Welcome new residents, orient them to the house rules/expectations, and complete all move-in/move-out processes and paperwork
  • Provide an on-site presence in the house and assistance to the residents
  • Collect and deposit monthly rents, keep written records of all transactions, follow-up on late/delinquent rents, issue late rent notices, file eviction process paperwork
  • Enforce rules, guest policies and compliance with house rules and community regulations
  • Oversee safety, security and cleanliness on the property. Respectfully conduct regular room inspections and assist/educate residents in improving the safety and cleanliness through weekly chores.  Provide proper documentation of all inspections to the Level Up Seattle Coordinator and provide constructive feedback to residents
  • Perform light-maintenance and janitorial duties around common areas, including entry, kitchen, community space, bathrooms, and grounds
  • Report higher-level maintenance requests promptly to the Level Up Seattle Coordinator
  • Facilitate twice-monthly resident meetings, responding to residents' concerns and questions, assigning daily and weekly duties to be performed by residents, as well as coordinating fun group activities, community service activities and group meals
  • Hold fire and/or emergency drills quarterly
  • Maintain inventory of basic household supplies and order/purchase supplies
  • Provide regular information and feedback to Level Up Seattle Coordinator about on-going operations, welfare of residents and any incidents, safety concerns, or other issues that occur
  • Be on-call with cell phone to respond to emergencies on an as-needed basis.  Call 911 in case of emergencies
  • Provide goals and track performance and achievements of residents, yourself as Residential House Manager and the home overall
  • Work with Level Up Seattle Coordinator to provide on-and off-site activities for residents

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Two years of experience working with foster youth, homeless or low-income people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstration of appropriate maturity level to supervise and support young adults
  • Working knowledge of the principles of trauma-informed care, positive youth development, harm reduction, and housing first within culturally-appropriate frameworks
  • Be able to lift at least 25 pounds
  • Must pass criminal background checks and drug screening test
  • Must successfully complete the following health certification requirements within 30 days of employment: CPR, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens training.
  • Must have reliable vehicular transportation and a valid State driver's license (or be able to obtain one by date of employment)
